Tis the Season!

One year later, and we are ready to pull up bins, haul in a tree, and start all over again! Amazing!

Jon and I were at Walmart and noticed a bunch of trees out front for only $20. We tossed one in his truck and it really feels like this show is on the road!

But first- look at my cute boys off to Winter Formal! They looked so handsome!

Here's Eli's cute date, Chloe. I never saw Adrens, but he said he and Sammy and group had a great time. Things are still a bit rough there. Boo.
That same night Jon said he was thinking of taking Paisley and Zeke to Jim Gaffigan in SLC. They often listen to him as they fall asleep at night. I said, Do it!
They did.
I made up some fun little invites and we handed them to them. They were way excited!

Back to getting these halls decked...

We finally got a little snow! This really helped it feel the Holidays in the air. We need snow!

Some other fun December things:
Dinner with Kimbo! It was so great to catch up with her. You can't see this, but on the other side of the table is Devron and Alli. We try to go to dinner about once a month to catch up, and it's the best!

Paisley used her birthday money and money she's been saving from her job reading with a neighborhood gal to buy her very own pair of Doc Martens! She is so excited, and they look so darling on her. If only I saved my pair...
I was looking forward to Zeke's 7th grade choir concert at Dixon Middle School, only because this is likely the last time we will attend such an event and we really don't attend Christmas concerts of any kind anymore. Possibly the last time I visit this auditorium? Perhaps.

His choir director announced at the beginning that each grade would only be performing two songs each. Then he said, Your Welcome!

Here's an example of what bad lighting will do...

We stopped by Grandma and Grandpa G's to wish Grandpa a Happy Birthday!
I made him a birthday cake and thought it turned out quite lovely.
Lagoon on fire! I texted this to the family, and we were relieved to hear it only affected the kiddie bumper car area. We love Lagoon!
Christmas is in the air and the scheming has definitely begun. With the kids a little older comes with less packages that I am able to wrap and tuck away as they arrive. There will still be a Daddy Fun Day, but maybe it will be me putting my feet up on my end...

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
