The hustle

Well, the hustle of back to school us under way and it's great! I loved Zeke's sweaty, happy face as he burst through the door after school to tell me all about third grade. He's doing so well in Portuguese and at times he doesn't even realize he's swapped out English words. I love it!
I put Adren and Eli in flag football. They were really fun to watch and were pretty good!

It's a great time for Paisley and Zeke to get homework done while they watch.
Eli is liking 7th grade. (Whaaaaat???) He's figuring out Dixon Jr. High and just continues to be as cute as ever!

He chose to play the Clarinet and after a slightly rough start seems to be playing much smoother and he really likes it.
I made smoothies for the kids for an after school treat. I love how Paisley will take something and make it her own and make it grand!

She's loving the 5th grade and I'm loving watching her and friends get a little older.

Jon has been planning and preparing the big Tetons trip all summer. I thought it extra special that Adren would be a part of it. It was fun to see them off for their fun adventure!
Jon texted while on the adventure and asked what we were up to. I sent him this:
Little angels...

They of course had an amazing time. And they of course came home to a welcome banner!
And I could have sworn Adren grew taller than me in that one week.
And then Jon prepared to go with Eli for a scout camp out.
While Adren is loving 8th grade, he's over Jr. High School. I guess it is a good thing it's only 2 years. He's ready to move on already. I can't blame him. We took some pictures for him to sketch for his art class.

Thumbs up to Adren!

Speaking of artistic, this late summer/ early fall weather has us breathless!
The glorious sunrise peeking through my blinds...
 Whoa!
I think I hear a Choir.
 Late summer sun setting.

I think it was my sisters that gave me this idea bug. We had a Personal Progress Fashion Show. It was so much fun! Each girl was given a value beforehand and had to come dressed in as much of that color as possible, even if it was just a sock. I had one of the gals DJ the night, and she was so funny! Each girl had a paper with questions she had to answer: What she was wearing, what she has learned about that value, what she's worked on so far or what she is planning on working on etc. It was a high energy night with lots of laughter and silliness, while celebrating each individual girl.

Somewhere in there Jon and I celebrated EIGHTEEN years!!! Wowsers, that is getting up there and we just can't believe it. We snuck away to lunch and patted ourselves on the back.

Crazy hair day at school is a thing at Lakeview now and Paisley had a birds nest in mind. I think we pulled it off nicely.

And Zeke wanted a Mohawk in rubber bands with straws sticking up and painted different colors. He pulled it off and it was fabulous.

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
