Even though the night before was crazy pants we managed to all get up at a respectable time and get ourselves together for the First Day of School!!! Ahhh, it's here.
Adren is the first to head out the door. He catches the BUS at 7:30am. Off to Dixon Middle School. It makes my heart hurt and makes me want to squeal for excitement for him all at once! It really is so fun to see him get more independent and experience new things, but at the same time, I remember him being so little and home with me all day and that was not very long ago. We put him in an honors math and science combo class, and a Leadership class where he gets to plan activities for 7th graders. He loves both.
Adren loves school! We took Labor Day weekend to get away to St. George and he kept saying he was anxious to get back to school! He loves all the classes and getting to move around from class to class, he loves having 2nd lunch, he loves that he doesn't know so many kids and meets new kids each day, he loves having a locker even though he never uses it, he loves new things he's learning and I'm just so glad he loves it all!
Eli is so excited to be a big Sixth Grader at Lakeview this year, finally! He says he doesn't feel like a sixth grader yet, and so far the work is noticeably harder. It can only go up from here! He has a great teacher this year, Mrs. Burningham. (from what I hear, she is the strict one) He has learned pretty quickly that if he buckles down at school and gets the work done, he has little to no homework. Eli is a smarty pants and he'll do great! I imagine it's a little strange to not have Adren around, and I think it is good for him.
Paisley has Mrs. Wing for Fourth Grade~ the same teacher her two big brothers had. She is also intense with the homework and expects a lot from her students, but I think she'll be great for Paisley. She is very kind and sweet, which Paisley responds well to. Paisley was the only one who wasn't giddy for school to start, but after the first week said she loves school! I remember that feeling well- the newness and excitement and just wanting to get back. I think Paisley is there.
I love this shot of her right before we got out of the car and walked in. She just looked darling as can be!
Zekey boy is entering the Second Grade with Ms. Wolf for morning work and Professora Sterling for Portuguese. He is so excited to learn more Portuguese and wondered how much more he'll know by the time school is out. At the rate he is going- a lot, no doubt. He catches on so quickly. This is the year all their math is in Portuguese. There was a little struggle in the beginning, but now he doesn't even need the phone app to help him read the problems. In fact, he never wants help with his homework, he just wants to get it done so he can move on with his life. He's doing great and loves school. To watch him zip down the sidewalk on his scooter each morning with his backpack on is just precious and always leaves me driving away with a big smile.
So there you go. All the kids back in school again, just like that. This year will be a little different with me not working any more. Time still seems to get filled up and there is more than ever to do, it seems I am always watching the clock to be at a stopping point before that school bell rings. Our evenings are filled now with homework and fitting everything in so the kids can get to bed at a decent time. It's all working out, it always does.

| The first school picture with only the three! |
| And the last school picture with those crazy bushes in the background. Jon ripped them out shortly after. Pal Landon made it in there. Don't they all look so excited? |
