Shortly after school started we took advantage of the Labor Day weekend~ and our 17th Anniversary~ and headed down to St. George. It was a lovely drive down, and after we got everyone settled at the house and dinner for the kids, Jon and I had our own dinner at Texas Roadhouse. How fun to be able to
go on a date while on vacation!!!
Happy 17 Years to us! I was Seventeen when I met Jon! Wowsers!

It's going well, guys.
It was a very relaxing weekend. Eli and I ventured into town and did some shopping, we cooked at the house, saw Pete's Dragon all together and relaxed. On the way home we stopped at Cedar Breaks- Wow! It is a gorgeous place, with such pretty views and small hikes.

These are special times.
It is a gorgeous place, not too far off I-15. One side of the road looks like this:
And the other side looks like this:
I took a speech/debate course with my neighborhood pals. I thought I can always use tips on speaking and writing talks, why not? The first class proved to be a bit intimidating and sweaty. What had I gotten myself in to??? (we were all wondering that) The final class was to present a 15 minute persuasive speech (oratory) on a topic of our choice, using all we had learned. The night before when my friend texted to ask how my speech was coming along I texted her back this picture. Clearly I was trying to find anything to distract me. This puzzle was
very important, and needed to be done before anything else.
I loved to look out the window and see Paisley and Zeke in deep play with their favorite pals.
These guys will have years of memories together. Such cuties!
Paisley ran in to grab my phone, saying she had to take an urgent picture of something.

Yimma Himma!
A tearful Zeke came in my room in the night, saying his tooth was so sore. Poor thing just writhed in pain next to me all night, nothing seemed to give him relief. I was able to get him in the next day for his first cavity filling. That "elephant nose" sure made him feel giggly.
He was a real good sport and back to his toothy smile in no time.
There have been lots of good times with these sweet kids~

Paisley and I off to the Women's Conference together, then dinner after.
I texted this to Jon one day after Paul and Sharon had dropped of a five gallon bucket of delicious peaches from their tree.
|
Look what I did! All from scratch!
He texted back, "Save me some!" I promised him we wouldn't cut into it until after dinner.
I continue to enjoy random little gatherings with my gal pals in the neighborhood. We start texting each other every few weeks, hungry to get together for some great conversation, and just enjoy each others company. It is always so refreshing! I texted this to one of the gals who we were waiting on, not sure if she was coming. The picture did it's job and she came right over!

These are homemade Nuttella salted caramel cookies, people. And a raspberry Italian soda.
Jon and I
finally took advantage of Provo City's free tree program. Good grief, we've been talking about planting tree's in our yard from day one- fifteen years later, we've planted a
treeeee!

Life is great and full of sweet things. Even the not-so-fun things are all right. Fall is in the air and the holidays are right around the corner, for sure. There is lots to look forward to and much to be grateful for!
