Eli's Very Special Day

We've all been looking forward to Eli's baptism and confirmation day, but of course Eli the most. As the countdown to the big day grew nearer, he'd remind me how close it was with a big grin. I crawled in bed the night before~ it was a gorgeous night and it felt good to have everything ready and in place.
We got up early the next morning, our ward was the first out of the stake, so we needed to be at the church at 9:30. Eli looked so very handsome in his new suit! Jon had taken him out to pick one that week. He learned Eli does not enjoy trying on close. At. all. But Eli was very excited to show me his new suit, shirt, tie belt~ and new tie tack from Granny. So handsome!
I could cry he's so precious!
All our family and Eli's teachers came to the church. It just felt extra special to see them all arrive that morning. Family is what it's all about, and I sure love being with mine. Such love and support for our little guy! There were two other of Eli's friends getting baptized and confirmed that day and the three of them looked so sweet!
Harrison was baptised just a few weeks before, and Ane will be just a few weeks after Eli.
Adren gave a wonderful talk. He did so good, and I told him he'll always remember that he gave the talk at his brothers baptism. He was real happy to do it, practiced well, and I appreciate his willingness to do it. Christine was a doll and agreed to be the chorister for us that day. I thought she looked so pretty up there leading the music!
After Eli was baptized I was out in the hall to make sure they got their towels. Jon and Eli were in the nursery room changing- the one with the peep hole. I peeked in to see them getting back in their suits. I could hear Eli just giggling, talking to his dad. It was a real sweet moment. I went in and gave him a big hug. He looked so sweet and happy!

Afterwards we all headed back to the house for a big lunch. And by big I mean huge. We had Cafe~Rio style salads and everyone contributed lots of yummy sides and desserts.
The very best people on the planet, right HERE.
We rented a bounce house from some friends in the ward who have a business. I tell you what~ that paid for itself ten fold and then some. It was the hardest working thing for the rest of the day. There was plenty of playing, fun with cousins, blood and tears. Oh, dear.

We chatted well into the evening, even made a Hobby Lobby run. Sadie was so great to come in from Elko and wanted to grab some things. It just was so fun to all be together.
Eli said it was the best Baptism day ever. I went to tuck him in bed and he was sound asleep. It really was the best day ever.

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
