Celebration of Dad!

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PAPA JON!

We took him to a movie and poured on all the love.

It sure has started snowing.... a lot! I don't really remember it snowing so much. It has been great! But will eventually get tiring. It seems a blizzard visits every-other day! We need to fill the rivers and reservoirs, so it makes me happy!

It does make me think of what a rough winter it would have been for sweet Sookie out in the garage though!
We just stay cozy inside. My favorite place to be.
I love chillin' with Paisley while she does her homework. We put on GG or a movie. She's the best and the cutest.
She's in her work uniform, so adorable!

Here's how the late-winter house is looking.

This is my view every morning (and afternoon) of Adren. All the kids head out to school - Eli has a very light schedule this Senior year, and does half days. But I always peek in on Adren in his crazy room. Teenage boys...

Jon helped me hang a shelf in the office. I hung this one to help coral all of the knick-knacks. It really does look so much better, even for an office.

I wanted some big paintings to freshen above the couch. They didn't really work out. Ha!

St. Patty's was as jolly as jolly could be!

Zekey takes about seven hours to go to bed. There is a lot of walking around, he pops in my room to chit-chat, change his laundry etc. He's so cute so I'll allow it.

The big boys got haircuts this past week. There is always a lot of mulling around after sacrament meeting, and not much of going to class.

Another night, another view of all these teens in and out of my bedroom getting ready for bed. Hair curlers, laundry, trying to find articles of clothing for tomorrow. A lot of stalling if you ask me.

As great as this snow is, it is starting to get a little bit tiring. The bundling up, the shoveling snow off the driveway- it's always so cold! I am beginning to long for warm days where I run errands in shorts and flip-flops. So we are off to Phoenix for Spring Break! We will be heading down with Cash and the Gouldings and we all agree we just need to feel warm sun on our faces for a bit. Can't wait!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
