As much as Adren loves to drive, he's had zero interest in getting his license. He never lacks rides anywhere thanks to friends at the ready (with cars!?!) which likely plays a large roll in his disinterest. Jon and I go back and forth with not wanting to put him behind a wheel any time soon- to really frustrated that he is not getting on top of this. We finally gave him the ultimatum: We will pay for the permit if it is done by the end of July, or you can get it yourself on your own time- and check out the city bus schedule while your at it. He chose to get his permit.
Freshly 15, Eli is studying up with him and hopefully they will get it together!
Adren and Eli going through the booklet together. So cute. This day was bonkers. I was not prepared when we arrived a the DMV, left the boys testing while I ran home to find Eli's birth certificate, running back to get Eli, running to a different city to get a copy of his certificate, running back to pick up Adren - who didn't pass for the 3rd time. (I guess he really was chatting with friends instead of studying.)
But Eli passed, first times a charm!
Adren really buckled down that night and did much better the next morning. He tried bragging to Eli he got a better score- until we both reminded him it took him four tries. The lady that worked there said she wanted to give him a hug, she was so happy for him. (I mean, after two days and hours and hours they had really bonded.)
Paisley can't believe it.
