Oh, the glee! The excitement! These are fun years I wouldn't trade for anything.
I remember the air feeling different on my birthday. I remember walking out to the kitchen on my birthdays, sign up, decorations, and the table full of gifts all for me! I loved going to school that day, with treats to share and lots of attention. I was the most special girl in the world.
I can tell Paisley feels the magic as well, and I love it. She awoke to much excitement, swirling around her brothers. The birthday always comes to the fireplace. Banner up, gifts spread.
She loved her birthday cake~ this was a challenge this year, as my oven was broken. I ran around to different stores, a little worried because I wasn't finding anything decent or large enough. I was relieved when I found this one- it was large enough and I figured I could work with it. She adored it.
She chose to wear her new fancy dress that day (I knew it!) and looked beautiful as can be leaving for school with her birthday bag of treats for her class.
I had asked her what she wanted to do for her day. She requested Chuck-E-Cheeses with her Grandma's, Grandpa's and the Whitmore's. This, of course is what she's done her whole life on her day. I just couldn't resist inviting over her two little friends after school for a little party time. One, because they are all so sweet together and I knew it would be fun to have them, and two because I knew we needed something to fill the day before evening came. They sure had a fun time! I compare Adren's crazy party pictures next to these, and the world of difference is huge! I mean, Adren's party table was a black plastic sheet, for heavens sake!

The evening arrived soon enough, and it was off to party some more. We were lucky enough to even have little Ivy and Violet come with Granny and Grandpa who were babysitting! It's funny Paisley requests this place because as soon as Chuck-E comes out to slap five with the kids she comes crying and hides by me until he goes back into the kitchen.
We sure are an extra special family because of sweet little Paisley. She is a delight, so sweet and thoughtful. She loves kindergarten. Her teacher, Mrs. Sarkady and I were chuckling at her review because we've noticed we'll sit with her and go over the same letter and sounds over and over. Then when we ask her what letter it is, she looks all sheepish and says, "I don't remember." It is quite frustrating, yet when she was tested she remembered them all. That short-term memory maybe isn't her strong point. But she has improved so much in her talking and learning. We love Paisley!!!
Side note: When we were getting ready to leave, Eli slipped off the stage and split near his eye open. Blood-y! We tried super glue this time. So we have a little experiment going within centimeters: "How will it scar?" with 1)Stitches, 2)Butterfly bandage, and now 3)Superglue. I'll let ya know.
