This is the first Taylor side Thanksgiving held in a cultural hall. It has come to this. With 40+ people, no one has a home to accommodate such a crowd. I reserved the Stake Center by our home, and it worked out great. Afterall, we just wanted to be together, and the kids love to run screaming bonkers for hours and they don't care where they are at while doing so. The Boci's and I were in charge of the turkeys. I was starting to sweat bullets when my bird should only have one hour left and was still raw. When I think back to that day, all I recall is a very smokey kitchen where the juices in the flimsy pan kept dripping to the bottom of the oven. Oh, well. It cooked in time and was de-lish. I made some delicious rolls and orange rolls that made up for the madness, a pumpkin cheesecake pie and a chocolate pie, and a monster pot of mashed potatoes. There were sooo many potatoes!
Look how excited all the little cousins are to be together! They sure have a ball playing for hours and hours!
I made these little centerpieces for the tables, mommy supplied the purple and red tablecloths.
| We stuck to the basics for food. And there was food! When everyone had eaten to their hearts content, it didn't even look like a dent had been made. Everything was de-lish! |
| It was also Great Granny's birthday! She had a fun birthday message and gifts for US, then we sang and had cake and pie, and all that goodness! |
The next night was the big Woolf Christmas party, while everyone is still in town. We stuck to tradition there and everyone brought a pizza to share, white elephant exchange and War-Ball! The holiday's are HERE!
