A new year, a new room and new plans!

It's always so refreshing to take down the holidays and do a deep clean.

Jonny!

I keep adding items to this room. We have our new green Christmas chairs, I found a table for behind the couch, and some lamps. Everyone has realized how much we need lamps in this room, especially after the glowy tree has been taken down.

I am working through the fireplace area. not loving it currently, but willing to keep trying different things.

I painted the bump-out Urbane Bronze, sort of a brown-grey. While I like it better, I don't think it is right, but it is a step in the right direction. I'll keep mulling it over.
I am drawn to Facebook marketplace, constantly looking for items to fill this space.

I found this great, large table, sanded it down and re-stained. Love it!

Then I saw these tables at Shabundy's. I was intrigued, and they were a great price. I left them behind. Then I kept thinking of them, and knew that meant I needed to go back for them. I love any kind of a nesting table- Very Granny Woolf.

Then, I spotted this dresser on Facebook marketplace. I knew it could be real pretty with a little work  and new hardware.

I was right!
It gives just enough height to this wall, love it so much!

Things are coming together, getting a little more glowy and cozy.

And these two are happier than ever. I love that Ella comes over most nights and has dinner with us. It has been so fun to get to know her better, and learn more about her family.
I had to snap pics because they matched!
I also had to snap a pic of this cute post from Romney. I love seeing Sadie as a G-G! So sweet!
Loving this bright, striped nook~
I spotted this Black Cat artwork and had to grab it. I bought the poster size print while in Paris with Sadie years ago. It hung above my fireplace, on my kitchen wall, and then in the kids bathroom for years and years. It's been fun having them notice it and recognize it.

One evening, all cozy in bed, while trying to find something to watch, Jon said, "I'm just putting on Twilight." I was shocked! I had to take a pic and text the kids. Ha!

I thought Adren looked real cute headed out on a date in his new Christmas jacket, fresh haircut, and just looking so happy.

I went all the way up to Bountiful to pick up a mirror I wanted to purchase off of Facebook marketplace. I know that is far- but it is really gorgeous and in my opinion, which is all that matters, worth it. I snapped a pic of a cold, foggy, winter Lagoon.

How cute are these Provo cousins, gathering together for dinner?

Wedding chatter has started, and suit shopping is underway. It is so fun!

Adren said this suit felt a bit tight when lifting his arms. I personally was very underwhelmed by it. We all agreed to keep looking.
Julie, Ella's mom, came over one night while we chatted wedding ideas. As the grooms mother, I mainly just smile and nod. All of the ideas are fabulous, there is some really beautiful stuff going on out there in the world of weddings, guys! I suggested we come up with a "look" or "theme" to keep us on track. I suggested the beautiful styling from the movie and series, The Talented Mr. Ripley. It is seriously gorgeous! The clothes, the buildings, the apartment styling- so classic and elegant. Once we looked up pics, we all decided this was the look we wanted! From then on, one of us would suggest something cute, and the rest of us would ask, "But is that Ripley?" Even their photographer watched the series so he could get on board and was able to nail the look!

It has been so much fun dreaming and gathering ideas with everyone!

Eli and Charlie back-to-back. I think Charlie has 1/2 an inch on Eli!

One evening Kelly had us over to look over boxes and boxes of jewelry from one of her clients estates. We all found little treasures. I spotted a necklace tassel and said, "This would look cute and fancy hanging on a door knob" and didn't think about it again. Imagine my surprise one morning when getting ready, to look over and see the exact tassel hanging on my toilet room knob! I called out, "Kelly? Are you here?" A little freaky! I went into Paisley's room and asked if she knew anything about it. Paisley said that while over at Esme's, Kelly handed it to her and told her to put it on my bathroom doorknob and see if I noticed. Well played!

I came upon some kindergarten pictures. I remember being a part of a little ballet number with a group of girls for our Christmas program. I have a sweet memory of searching the crowd until I saw Mommy smiling at me.
For one dance, I wore my swimsuit and mommy made a matching Tu-tu.

For the other, all I had was my black leotard. Mommy made me a cute red Tu-tu and added ribbons. I was the only one in black, the other girls all wore pink. Because of this, I was the main dancer, and they did a little spinning dance around me.

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
