Here's Adren at 16, relaxing after a day at Provo High School, reading on the couch. What a cutie.
The river trail right by our house is gorgeous as ever!
Zeke had to come up with a way to display his circuit project. He really wanted to do a big volcano- oozing lava, with tons of smoke billowing out- and a red, glowing light coming from inside. No problem.
He did great! I had to chuckle at his class performance. I've never seen a kid so checked out.
He thought it was so not fair that bestie, Israel, got out of the whole night because he forgot and it was too late to make it over. He had me take a pic of his project on display so that he could send it to him. (I think I see why he no-showed)
We packed up and headed down to glorious Hurricane House for Jonny's
46th. Sunshine, family and a little exploring. It was great! We love you,
Dad!
Our first Stake YCL kick-off meeting~ When I met with my Stake Camp director and she told me of the tradition of packing up vehicles with gear and food in the cold dark days of February to head up the canyon to an overnight-er at a cabin with the girls and leaders my guts hurt. I told her none of that sounded fun to me, what if we scratched that tradition? I think she hugged me with tears in her eyes.
Our version of a "retreat" was a fabulous dinner by our camp cook, get-to-know-you games, a message from the Stake President and his wife, then broke into groups to talk about all of their great ideas about camp! We really encouraged the girls to think outside of tradition. They had such great ideas! We accomplished all we wanted to- and it sounds like we've never had such a large turn-out before. Sounds like the girls don't want an overnight-er right off the bat with gals they hardly know either!
My kids wondered if I created this meme?
March is Women's History Month. I gathered with my CRU and we had dinner to celebrate Kelly's big 50th and then headed to the Provo Rec where there was drinks, hors d'oeuvres and dancing. We did it all, including a pic with Provo's Mayor.
