Paisley decided to make a bunch of paper boxes for her School Kid's Business Day. She put decorated rocks inside them with googly eyes and cute faces. She would come home and start working at the table. She is great at diving in to a project and using her creativity. I helped her make a few because they are really fun to make! I made a nesting set, making each box smaller and smaller. This was the final box~ about the size of my thumbnail.
Guess what??? More school programs! This was Zeke's Portuguese program. It was so very delightful to see him up on that stage singing away and doing all the actions to his dance. Seriously delightful. I wish I'd filmed it.
Adren took choir because the guitar class was full. He was not excited about it at all. But he said it ended up being his favorite class. (That may have something to do with that girl in the glasses.) He said his teacher was really intense but funny. Adren does not really sing. He has told me he's usually just mouthing the words when he does have to sing. So imagine my surprise at this concert to see him there on the back row, really belting out the songs, singing every note! He said his teacher insisted they all sing boldly, and they learned it was in their best interest to do so, otherwise they would get called out. It worked!
We gathered as many of the girls as we could to say thank you and good-bye to my second councilor, who is moving. She has been wonderful!
I'm always fussing over the front room and wanted to use this great dark charcoal in there. After I painted the one wall I decided I'd leave it at that for a while. I like it!
Trek planning is underway (gulp). We took the youth on a walk on the Provo River Trail so they could start breaking in those pioneer shoes.
The funny thing is~ it was mainly Beehives who showed up, and they aren't even Trekking!
These girls... I sure have grown to love them dearly.
Paisley and I put together some end of the year teacher gifts. I thought they were real clever...

Get it?
And some graduation and end of year treats for my Laurels...
Last Day of School!
They did it! Summer is HERE!!!
Memorial Day meet up at Provo Cemetery to visit Grandma Taylor and family. I love to tell the kids stories of Grandma Taylor and I hope they feel like they know her a little because of them.
First things first: Ice cream sandwiches at Penguin Brothers.
And then a much needed hair cut for Sookie. We thought she looked so cute, Paisley and I gasped when they brought her out! This really made that summer shedding non-existent.First things first: Ice cream sandwiches at Penguin Brothers.
I made some cute little dresses for one of my past laurels for her baby shower~
Beautiful Provo Temple trip on a gorgeous spring evening~
And my cousin Colin's wedding reception in Adrienne's backyard. It was really neat to go back to Downington Avenue and walk through that house. The reception was so pretty!
It's been neat to drive by the new Provo High and watch the progression rain or shine. How strange to have Adren starting here as a 9th grader in fall of 2018!
It's getting there!
I was bustling around, depositing laundry piles in the kids room when I noticed Paisley's bed. It made me gasp out loud! It's happened so gradually it was shocking to see what she's done with the place! I had to just stop and stare for a while. It's a little girl's version of Daddy's office.
These are relaxed, wide open days of summer. These kids are excited to do a whole lot of nothing for a little while.
I love little Zeke's profile~
More youth Trek preparations~ the BYU Family History Library to find an ancestor to walk for. These youth are really great. Really great.Paisley and Abby are off on some sort of adventure and soooooo cuuuuuuute:
Me fussing with the front room again. I saw some similar pillows at the store for $50+ a pillow. I recreated something similar for under $30 for both!
In-between all of this I have Girls Camp on the brain. It is right around the corner. Our value this year is Individual Worth, Red. It's going to be great! Let Summer 2017 begin!
