Random March madness

This little gal has something to show you...
I spent a fun night out with my ladies~ we celebrated Kelly's birthday at a fab restaurant in SLC with a to-die-for dessert menu. Her birthday wish was to sample a little of everything! So we did!
Elizabeth had to dash after dinner and before we got a group shot~ so Debra photo-shopped her in.
Diana, Mindy, Debra, Mary, me, Kelly. Sure love these ladies!
These kids...

Jen and I were texting back and forth one Friday night~ she was sending me pics of a gorgeous resteraunt she and Brad were dining at in Cali. I texted her back what our Friday night looked like:
It was a snoozer yet still scrumptious evening.
Paisley has racked in some serious coinage with her lemonade stand. She begged me to buy the pink lemonade and cups. She makes the lemonade, she lugs out her little table and chairs, she made her sign announcing her cost. She was running inside to tell me all excitedly each time she made a sale, but then got too busy. I was a little surprised to see the chunk of change she pocketed when it was all done.
I'm savoring the car cart phase at Macey's. I fear I'm in the countdown to where these are no longer coveted. Driving makes me sleepy, too!
One morning as Jon was trying to get the kids moving before school I had the idea to just take a free day. They were all really dragging- I was dragging- we haven't had a "free day" yet this year and it was the perfect morning to surprise them. It turned out really fun!
First stop~ Breakfast!
I texted this pic to my laurel Addie who works here and had left that morning to try out for Julliard in NYC! ~"Guess where we are???:
We were curious about the much hyped origami exhibit at the BYU Museum of Art. Awesome!
Zeke said, "Come here, Mom- I want to show you something that looks SO FUN to crush!"

There's a room where you can practice folding origami to video tutorials. Pretty fun!
Afterwards we were content to walk the busy campus and see the sights. We even had lunch there in the lunchroom. It was a lot of fun! I love being on campus! The kids were all saying that is where they want to go to school. I told them they probably couldn't get in because we do "free days".

About the time school would be let out we went to Provo Rec and the kids swam while I got caught up on my book. It was a real wonderful day!
Jon has been on the hunt for a vacuum. I was thrilled he was taking on this nauseating research and just made a decision. It is a well-informed decision.
And finally, artwork by Paisley, the dear:

Aw, I should have done the splits.
That darn cat wouldn't cooperate for her pic.

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
