Thanks to Zeke, who begged for a Leprechaun hat at the store, I remembered a stash of hats from Granny I had tucked away. There I also found a bunch of shamrocks to stick up, and I was set!
The night before I dumped green food coloring in all the toilet tanks, and hung new green T-shirts from the kids ceiling fans in their bedrooms. Lucky Charms for breakfast with green milk finished the morning off!
I hid the little Leprechaun guys all over the house- in drawers, shoes etc. They had a pile before school, but those little fellas don't like to stay caught...
That evening the kids got to have dinner and play at Grandma and Grandpa's house while Jon and I attended a St. Paddy's work dinner.
Jon and I arrived at the dinner, made the rounds chatting with the people Jon knew and wanted to make contact with~ but by then it was so crowded we weren't sure if there was a place to squeeze in- it was getting so crowded and loud with a band setting up. The corned beef and hash menu wasn't super appetizing~ so we left! We enjoyed a lovely quiet dinner at one of Jon's favorite Vietnamese restaurants, Pho instead. At least we were both wearing green.
