It's Valentines Day!

What a lovely holiday to share the love. I decorated the house a little the beginning of February.
And then the kids wake up to a fancy table on the day of, just as I did growing up.

Adren and Paisley worked on their Valentine boxes to bring to school, Eli made his as a class activity.

I got to help out in Adren's class that day with his class party. I love to be at the school on Holidays and his class is a lot of fun. I feel like I know these kids pretty good after seeing them year after year. I was in charge of coming up with a game. I made a big pink and red bean bag in the shape of lips to play the version of Hot Potato. I changed it to "Hot Lips" and had the kids pass the bean bag around in a circle until the music stopped. Adren was real specific on the kind of music he wanted me to play. His requests were: Fireflies by Owl City, Party Rock Anthem (of course), Dynamite and Gangnam Style. I snuck in there MC Hammer's U Can't Touch This. It was all a hit and when the party was over and there was time left the entire class wanted to play a giant game of it until the bell rang.
The kids came home to a counter top full of heart shaped pink sugar cookies and we put together some Valentines for the neighbors to leave on doorsteps and knock and run. I was happy to see Adren still very much in to this, as well as a speedy little Zeke not slowing anyone down. It was a lovely evening with a yummy Chinese dinner on our fancy Valentines table~
Wreck It Ralph kept the kids distracted enough for our own doorbell Valentine Phantom throughout the evening. Our house was full of love.

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
