When Pioneer Day came, we had no plans. We always set off some fireworks out front in the evening, but with Jon off for the day, I thought we should make good use of the day. We decided to have a picnic at a park and see where that took us. I knew just the park- a fun castle/ climbing place in PG. Mommy called to see if we were planning anything, so I skyp'd out there what we were doing, in hopes anyone would join us. I love those times when things start snowballing~ in a good way! At the park arrived Granny & Grandpa, Cade & Ashley with the girls, and Shafer & Lindsey with the boys. We stayed and stayed until the kids were done, then all made a stop for a snow cone- man, those little shacks take forever to shave that ice!
We headed over to Cade and Ashley's, where the Whitmore's joined us, some tables and chairs were set up on the front lawn, Cade pulled out his homemade Corn Hole game, (super duper fun, by the way) a few of us ran to get dinner, snacks, sparklers and fireworks, and that party grew into the night.
It was a gorgeous evening, surrounded by the best peeps. The kids had a blast, and memories were made. My kind of holiday!
