The first overcast-chance-of-rain Saturday that popped up this summer was the one for me to take Adren and Eli up to the "Y". They were real excited to reach the top, after all, it is something we have pointed out to them since they were teeny tiny.
They did real great. Each switch back is so steep, we had to stop almost at every one, but they were eager to press on.
There is such excitement when the giant Y comes into view! The trail splits and you can choose to take the path to the bottom of the Y, or press on straight up and come out on top. We chose to come out on top.
Those views sitting on the top are so beautiful!
What a gorgeous valley we live in!
These boys are a lot of fun to be with. This is one of the few activities where they were actually a little worn out and not so spaz-tic. I enjoy listening to their conversations~ which are usually ridiculous, but none the less amusing. They get along great~ for the most part, but definitely have their moments of fighting~ or "wrestling" that seems a bit too full of angst, which usually ends with Eli in tears. I'll hear little tid-bits that keep me chuckling- Adren to Eli: "You look soooooooo beautiful today, Eli. (that's not sarcastic at all.) Or- Adren to Eli: "What are you doing?" Eli: "Oh, a little something called, NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS."
I told them once you've been to the "Y" you never look at it the same again. And they don't.
