Having little babies and watching them grow into young adults in a blink of an eye is wild. Eli would love to move out with his buddies, and started looking into it. I am excited for him to experience living out on his own, those years were so fun for me and I know he would love it. At the same time, I felt my heart grow heavy with the thought. I am not ready for my Pie-pie to go! I was a little relieved when he decided to stay home for a bit. (His good friend moved out and told him how if he just donates plasma every week like him, he, too can make ends meet.)
Because these times are numbered, this nineteenth year for Eli hits different.
Eli requested no bake fruit cheesecake! A favorite and highly requested birthday treat.
Eli asked if some of his friends could come over that evening to hang out. I provided lots of food and treats. They were a real sweet bunch. Once again, Jon and I retreated to our room for the night. I heard bursts of laughter as they watched a movie and it made me smile. (After looking at this pic later I asked, Where are the girls???)
Eli is a true sweetie pie. He liked attending a semester at UVU and is hoping to continue in the fall. He works at Chipotle, which pays for his schooling. He is good at saving his money. He is currently teaching Primary with another friend in the ward. It is cute to see a little kid in his class stare at him and shyly wave during sacrament meeting.
I am just crazy about this sweet boy and love to cheer him on and support him wherever he may go.
I love that Eli has gotten into the base guitar. And I especially love that I recognize a lot of what he is strumming away.
