Life feels a little blah with the fun Florida trip over, the Holidays done and packed away, school back in session but still half days- at least they've started going on Fridays now. These are cold, grey pandemic days. This mask wearing everywhere is the pits. I've been fighting a cold and still a clogged ear that seem to be zapping my energy. Between you and me, I haven't been able to smell since November- which really makes me sad! When you don't feel your best it makes daily tasks more draining. Such is life. I suppose being down in the valley will make the peak that much more sweet when it comes.
Here is something to cheer me up: Paisley- fresh off the bus, in her Hufflepuff sweatshirt and cute bucket hat, eating her signature peanut butter and Nutella waffle sandwich, telling me all about her day.
I had to stop and appreciate this scene at the local Win-Co:
Our sweetie-pie Zeke Christian Geertsen was ordained the Aaronic Priesthood this month and now helps serve the sacrament. He is so excited and Jon's blessing was so great. No more kids in Primary! It's fun to have all four in the Youth program.
And Eli was ordained a Priest! Two Priests in the houuuse!
Cute brothers. It was neat to have Adren stand in the circle.
I had the inauguration going all day on January 20th. I just love these things, and feel it's important for the kids to remember these milestones. I had to send this to our family group. He-he.
Scenes at the Geertsen house, which I cherish:
Paisley's dearest friend, Esme is moving to Germany for the next six months. This has been the cause of many tears, good-bye gatherings, special late-nights, long chats, and finally, a middle School graduation because she will miss it.
I don't really know what's happening here, but there's a robe, a makeshift hat, a ukulele...
Their flight was delayed because of Covid testing, and Kelly and I decided we couldn't watch another emotional good-bye from our daughters and forbade them to see each other in the few days it took to find another flight.
Jonny entered a beautiful pic he took of Utah Lake in to KSL News and was excited to see it featured and entered in for the final drawing. He WON! He was awarded his picture blown up and framed and an enormous color printer! I made him a funny sign and had it all displayed so he'd see it right when he walked in from work.
Adren
finally got his license! I know that was a big relief for him, achieving this didn't come easy for him. He, Paisley and I went to the DMV to get it. So exciting!
Then we went to drop off his guitars to get restrung. I found him in the guitar room playing
Here Comes the Sun. I love to hear him play.
I was home alone but could hear snoring. It was old Sookie. She's getting up there in age, and sure has bee a good kitty.
Chillin' in the Geertsen house. I love these days.
Here's to a hopefully near future of warmer temps, better health, resolve to do better and show more love and charity!
