Back To School! 2017~2018

These kids are off to another year! It sure whips around faster and faster, just as my mom said it would!
Eli Taylor Geertsen. Off to the 7th Grade at Dixon Middle School. They have the 7th graders go a day early so they can maneuver the halls and figure out classes with less crowds, so Eli was the first to head out. Eli!!!

I thought he looked so cute with his sweet smile and quiet anxiousness. As I watched him walk down the street to catch his first bus I thought my heart would burst!
There he goes.
Next up is Paisley Elaine, Fifth grade in Mr. Wilcox class and Zeke Christian in Third grade in Professora Wager and Mrs. Anderton, both at Lakeview Elementary School.

Sooo cute!

Reunited with friends!
How adorable can you be?
Then it was time for Adren Aaron to start his year as an Eighth grader at Dixon Middle School. He is really looking forward to having Eli with him.

Cutest brothers!

These kids have been together since day one!
Always such mixed emotions starting a school year. I love the structure and some alone time, yet the early mornings and schedule gets old. But these kids get their stuff done and get out the door without much effort on my part, so I can't complain. I just love them so much, and hope there aren't too many swearing/ potty mouth bozo'z around.
And now I'm seeing a lot more of this:
Paisley had some friends over for her carefully planned out back to school party. She's a real doll and I would have loved to be counted as her friend at her age!
Looking forward to 2017~2018 School Year!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
