"Accordion" to the Boc's, we are loved. This little guy kicked off the feelings of love for the month.
I gave these candy filled hearts out to my Laurels the Sunday before so they would feel the love. You can see where I got the idea...
The morning was very festive~
Of course, the kids put together their Valentine boxes the night before:
It was lovely to get a knock at the door during the day to receive a fresh bouquet of flowers from Jonny. Sooo sweeeet.
Jon had purchased tickets to the Lego Batman movie long in advance, so it would be a different evening for us all gone to the movies instead of home with the door-knocker phantom. It worked out great when we were all home, getting ready for bed when we heard the phantom at the door, and a bunch of little gifts were left all at once!
To continue on with the month of love, I found all the kids huddled around the counter "roasting marshmallows" one evening. While I appreciate that they enjoy each other, this is a reminder why I can't have new counter tops:
My fun Laurels are lovely girls. They wanted to do a scavenger hunt in the mall. I justified it by saying it was a good "bonding" opportunity with each other. It really turned out fun!
My team:
(we won)
While we're on the subject of these fun girls, the other night that month we iced and delivered sugar cookies to friends in the ward with love notes. While we iced I had us draw questions one at a time we all had to answer. This helped us all stay engaged instead of everyone having their own conversations, and some girls left out- which tends to happen. It was a super fun night!
It was also time to schedule New Beginnings. I had been teaching the girls the song Walk Tall Your A Daughter of God since fall and they sounded so pretty! I had all the girls go up and do something whether it was sharing what they're working on, to introducing new girls, singing, talking about Personal Progress and it was great! I feel like if the parents are going to come, they may as well see their daughters up there! I made these posters for the girls to hold and read from, they turned out cute! I served mini muffins, fruit, and a sparkly drink. It was a great night, even greater to have over with!
Paisley is just a doll. She came home from school and was telling me about her day, and while she was talking I was appreciating how grown up she's looking- and how cute her hair is when she lets me straighten it. Which so far is only two times. (In general I am not allowed to touch her hair.)
Paisley and Zeke were thrilled to get some stuffed animals at Ikea on a family outing and brought them in to every store we visited. Jon and I were on a hunt for a kitchen table and chairs, and camping gear for upcoming Trek. Other than these little animals, we left empty handed. This is outside of Scheels. These two are just the cutest.
I sure love the women I serve with. Instead of a traditional board meeting in January we met up at Brick Oven for dinner. It was so lovely to chat and laugh together for an evening. We barely say two words to each other at mutual and church because we are so busy. These are amazing women!
I'll sneak this one in of Zeke's oral book report. He chose to create the pirate book he read into play dough and I thought he was real creative. I wish I could have watched him present.
