SPOOKY town 2016!

Adren's pumpkin
It's a month of decking the house, deciding on and creating costumes, carving pumpkins and anticipating earning that big bag of candy, and we did it all!
I hadn't planned on throwing the big party, so therefore didn't have a costume together. Then after a few texts from people saying they actually were available and planning on coming to party, we got in party mode big time! I felt like it was Christmas with the Kranks- Halloween style. We threw up some Halloween streamers, straightened up the decor, and threw costumes and dinner together. It all came together spectacularly, if I must say so!
Our enormous group!
The Whitmore's and Granny Taylor!

The Bocanegra's and Hess'!
Cash Family~ Harry Potter themed!

Marriage is really aging them.

Geertsen's!

Taylor's!

It was a full, rockin' house! We formed a parade around the neighborhood while jamming to Ghostbusters, Thriller and other Halloween music.

Before we left, Abby had the kids decorate clear cups with Halloween stickers as a "Ghost Trap" and placed them on a paper plate...

Sure enough, when we arrived back from our parade the kids had captured ghosts in their cups!

We wedged in some pumpkin carving~

On Halloween Day I watched the kids parade around again~ It's odd to only have three to look for, and this will be Eli's last.
Eli as "Horse Man"~ I love it!

Zeke in his Blue Morph Suit! He insisted this is what he wanted to be for Halloween. I suggested the many FREE costumes we already had. He patted my arm and said, "Mom, your just going to buy me a morph suit, OK?" He was right...

Paisley as a DARLING Indian Princess. This was fun to create, down to her furry leg warmers.

I made some yummy soups and Grandparents Geertsen's and Taylor's arrived, and the kids and friends were off!
The pug and the bear.

A real variety of cuties!
 Another balmy, warm Halloween!
 Trick or Treat!
The kids and friends ended up at our house, eating candy and hanging out afterwards. A really fantastic Halloween!
They arrived back exhausted and satisfied.

The day after Halloween the next countdown arrived...
Nine days until this girl celebrates her big day!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
