They all said it was fun to have me gone and to have DAD in charge. Good deal!
I was really looking forward to a night out with Jen and Brad up in gorgeous Park City while they visited Utah! The dinner was pricey and not impressive or de-lish at all. The movie was DUMB, but the company was the best! It was so great to spend a night catching up. I feel like we communicate regularly and are still able to go out when they visit enough, it's not as bad as I thought the move would be.
I loaded mine and the kids bikes in the van one day- I can't believe I fit them all! All the kids had to sit in the corners and underneath bikes until we arrived up at Vivienne Park. It was a gorgeous day, that canyon was at it's summer peak and seemed to just glisten! I was so impressed with Eli, he did the whole ride all on his penny board! And when I say all I mean all the way home! Shortly after this shot he biffed it hard. Poor thing. But he was ok, he dusted himself off and chose to ignore the stinging road rash on his leg and palms. He made up "Free Shipping!" This means he'd hang on to my right handle bar at times when he'd need a little break and coast along. So as we'd bike along, I'd hear, "Mom, free shipping!" and I'd know to slow until he caught up to me on my right and grab on for a bit. We'd chat and laugh, and I appreciated his good attitude. It took us about 2 1/2 hours. Great ride! \
Sweet Paisley. I made smoothies for the kids snack one day. The boys ran in, poured their helping into a plastic IKEA cup, gulped and ran off to keep playing. But Paisley got herself a fancy glass and straw, and added an umbrella to her drink and took her time. I think she's the only one who consistently uses the fancy glasses. I like that about her.
Little did I know they were digging a tunnel underneath that tractor tire. A deep tunnel. One day I'd just walked home from a meeting and thankfully was sitting by the open window when I heard Eli and friend Landon shouting worriedly at Adren. I ran out there to find Adren completely buried under the tire, the tunnel had collapsed in on him. I tried to pull him out by his legs, but it was impossible. Eli and friend were madly trying to scoop sand out of the middle of the tire where hopefully his head was, but luckily Adren was able to wriggle himself out of the hole backwards. His hair and ears were packed in sand. He said it was a little scary for a second. Needless to say, we had to make some new rules for digging holes in the sandbox! You better believe Jon and I keep shuddering about how that could have gone...
Jon got a great summer night shot off "Y" mountain~
Jon takes whatever kids he can over to the church for his Saturday cleaning assignment~ which I think is usually Zekey boy.
| What a good sport! (and semi-ok helper sometimes) |
| Ha! |
Cute Eli, winning some awards at Pack Meeting. Ahhhh....... Pack Meetings...... the never-ending Pack Meetings...... the only moment in the day where time seems to stand still....
Jon, Shafer and Cade were able to enjoy a big hike together. It made me smile picturing those three off together for the day. Again, I'm not sure where they went but found the pictures amusing, and I was glad I was not there. He said it was a doozy.
But they were able to witness a proposal! That guy probably was hoping to have the peak to himself. But at least they boys were able to send him the pictures of the occasion. Neat, right?
I know we sound like broken records, but this Provo River Trail........
