I always have visions of stringing streamers, pulling on party hats, making party food, everyone involved in our New Year's Eve preparations. I really like hunkering down for New Years. I like to stay in the cozy house, lots of treats, snacks & movies. The last Hoo-Rah of the Holiday's. I leave up Christmas to keep it festive, I like that magic to linger for the new year.
I've unwillingly made it a tradition to get sick on this day, and couldn't pull myself out of bed. (unless I was racing to my bathroom) Yuck. In a way it was nice to have an excuse to do nothing all day, but I still worry about the house, the kids~ what are they going to do???
Luckily, the Taylor's (the Shafer and Lindsey kind) sent a shout-out for anyone wanting to join up with them for a BYU game. We'd gotten tickets already, so it worked out perfect for Jon to take the bunch and meet up with them, Granny and Grandpa, and have a great time, apparently.
The kids had a ball with the cousins, and really didn't realize it was even New Years Eve.

Good times all around. By the time they returned, I was well-rested and we hung out the rest of the night watching movies, playing our Christmas game, and it was all right. As usual, it was just Jon, Adren and I to run outside with pots and pans, whooping and hollering in the new year. We could see the fireworks from our house, so that was neat. 2012 is going to be a good year. I have a feeling......
