Big Daddy is the man, that's for sure. The kids were very excited to celebrate his birthday, and since it fell on a No-School-Monday, we knew it could be a full day of fun for all. We had gone out the Saturday before with friends to celebrate, which is always a good time with the Larsen's. But we've found now the kids feel sad and left out if we ditch them on the actual party day.
Jon started out the first day of his 37 years helping neighbor's move bright and early. He was gone for a while, which gave us plenty of time to hang his Birthday banner, collect his gifts and set them out, and make waffles. We were ready and excited when he made it home. He enjoyed his favorite snacks and treats from the kids, a shirt from me.
Look at that sweet face! And notice Elie's love note under the banners.
Next was a trip to Kangaroo Zoo. Wouldn't you love to spend your special day at a bounce house full of screaming kids? Perfect. When we made our way back home, dinner was ready~ his favorite, roast in a crockpot and mashed potatoes. We had a great dinner, followed by cheesecake, also his fave.
Then on to a movie: "That Darn Cat". I think he slept through most of it. I hadn't seen this movie since I was little, and I still love it. The kids didn't fully get what was going on, so I kept shaking my head and chuckling throughout: "That DARN cat!"
Here's how excited the Birthday boy was about the choice in movie. (He may kill me for this photo~ He certainly couldn't get away with posting one of me like this....)
Jon is a good sport. He's the best husband I've ever had, such a great father and hard worker for our family. We're all crazy about him. We love you, Daddy!
