Second Ever All Adult No Kid Family Fun Night! (hosted by the Geertsen's)

Sadie and Brent came up with/ suggested this marvelous idea in early spring, and hosted the first ever in April. It was oodles of fun! Hanging out with my family is one of the funnest things to do, so take the 25+ darling children out of the equation and it is sure to be a relaxing, pleasure-filled evening. The Goulding's had us meet up at their house, where we munched on popcorn and chatted until Sadie and Brent filled us in on the evening plans: divide into groups, pile into the plethora of mini vans and run to the local grocery store to get different items for our dinner. (Sadie and Brent provided the main course) Afterwards we played a fun game, and just enjoyed being together without the constant interruptions and mess that usually comes with our gatherings.

Jon and I were up for the next quarter and once July started I knew we needed a plan stat. We had everyone meet at our house, where I welcomed them with a homemade Italian Soda with different flavor options. They were a hit and very refreshing on a hot summer evening. Once everyone had arrived and were visiting I ran and picked up our sitter and we were off! We ate dinner at a local resteraunt on Center Street, where Matt was able to meet up with us, fresh off his flight! Dinner was great, we are still a huge group without all the kids and had to do some table rearranging. From there we went on to bowling at Fat Cats. With the great music cranked, fluorescent lights pumping, it wasn't hard to get into it, and it was a lot of fun, cheering people on and watching mommy bowl! She scored higher than Jon! It really was a lot of fun- I mean, when else have I ever bowled with my family???

Afterwards we all came back to our house and filled up on Ice Cream Sundae's complete with lots of toppings and more good conversation. I wasn't sure how it would all end up, with the sitter and getting kids to bed, but it all worked out great! Good times all around! My family is the best!

The Exciting and Miscellaneous

Zeke got his learners!!! This was easy-peasy, first try. He is an excellent driver, though he says he does not feel super confident. Maybe it is because it is kid number four, but I have all the confidence in him. What a guy! We had a fun family gathering at Cash's house. Fun because ALL of the Boc's were there. They haven't all been together for years- like since before Grayson's mission. They all gathered for Matt and Abby's 30th anniversary! Sooo sweet. Look at this bunch! I love this average summer day in the Geertsen household. I am working in my bathroom. I will share my game plan directly... Jonny... P-Day phone calls with Adren are the best. He just gets whomever is around, sometimes it's just the Parentals. I took this screenshot of Cade, Ashley and Jon all on Mount Timp! Many in the family joined that day. This is the second summit on that mountain in a month for Jonny! Just a pretty screenshot from the doorbell cam.   Paisley has been asked to Prom b...

May Celebrations and Love!

Our little Paisley and all of her little friends are graduating from High School and all of us mothers cannot believe it! My dear friend and current Young Women's President, Elin, set up a beautiful evening for the girls and mothers to celebrate each one of them. It was lovely and touching and very special. These girls are the best! Despite the scaffolding that has been a staple for way too many weeks I care to count, I always appreciate our coming-to-life spring yard. Everything is filling in nicely. It is amazing how big our trees and bushes have become in hardly no time! But that scaffolding! You can't really tell, but it is quite the maze to get in the front door. The porch area may need to be removed just so that people can enter safely on the Homecoming Day.  My friend Kelly reminded our CRU when we replaced our faces onto her family portrait when she arrived home from living abroad for a time. We so funny! More windows being installed. Hooray! I snapped these as I headed...

Happy Anniversary to Jon & Lindsey!

Happy 25 Years to us! We spent the weekend at Snowbird at the lovely resort. It was all so pretty! Our room had such gorgeous views of the mountainside. I texted this pic to Adren of Pfeifferhorn, a mountain he summited with his dad once. I looked at that, marveling that my boy has been there! We took the tram up to the top of the mountain to enjoy panoramic views all around. One of the days it was nice to say, "The only thing on our schedule is a tram ride and dinner reservations". After so much hussle, it was nice to not have a whole lot to do. Chillin' with Jonny was really nice and good for us. It was a good reminder that we really enjoy each other. I mean, we knew that, but it is nice to spend a weekend together when you don't have a million other things going on. When we got back, I dived right back into our big event at work, our annual Give Hope Gala. This one was fun because Jon got to attend with me. It was a fun evening with him and my work friends. Off we ...
